Pdogg shared that he recently sat down with j-hope and had a discussion about the music j-hope is working on. Pdogg emphasized that: “When an artist work on his own songs, his musical spectrum can get narrower as a result of being trapped in the kind of music that he can digest only”.
He also commended j-hope for his innovative thinking when he is always looking for ways to create new musical styles instead of choosing to follow the same path: “However, j-hope is always looking for new styles and going for them. He thought a lot about how he could surpαѕѕ his own limits. This is another thing about j-hope that I think is great.”
j-hope has also shared on GQ before about how he wants to push all limits in music and after meeting with several producers, he had some difficulty composing with his new music style: “Not long ago, after meeting various producers to share my music and get some feedback, I faced a dilemma. I realized that the musical direction I’d chosen was tough, and I lσst confidence. I’m anxious to move beyond this difficulty, but it’s been slow going, and this makes me feel ashamed. I couldn’t help but ask, ‘Is this my limit?’ But I’m in the process of gradually overcoming this challenge.”
This even made j-hope accept to give up all of his previous compositions to start over. GQ interviewer even complimented that: “He ended up scrapping the entire batch of songs and started over again. The way he overcomes a slump is to continue plowing forward! Obstacles don’t stop him”.
In the latest post j-hope updated on his Instagram, j-hope also said about him in this year and we also found that his passion for the new album he is working on. He wrote: “What kind of a year was 2021 for me? A year of trying lots of new and different things. A year of reflecting on the person Jung Ho-seok and his life. Maybe a year like the brilliant flames of a finale for both j-hope and BTS. The definitions if I look for them are innumerable. For the first time I’m spending the end of the year as my own self, with a chance to look back on 2021 and contemplate its meaning. “This is what it really means to have time just for me,” that’s how I feel now.”
