A second man has been found dead in Newtown Creek, which separates part of Brooklyn and Queens, after leaving an event at Brooklyn Mirage. In a statement, the New York City Police Department said that a body found in the creek had been identified as 27 year old John Castic, NBC News reports. Paramedics pronounced him dead on the scene, and police said his body had no obvious signs of trauma. Castic, a senior analyst at Goldman Sachs, was last seen around 3 AM on Saturday, July 29 at Brooklyn Mirage for a show with Zeds Dead, Boogie T, Deathpact, Sippy, and SuperAve. He was reported missing by a friend on Sunday, police said.
Another man, 27 year old Karl Clemente, was found in Newtown Creek on June 16, after last being seen outside of Brooklyn Mirage on June 11 around 10 PM. Police said he may have been denied entry to the club that night, and described him as heavily intoxicated.
The police department told NBC that “the investigation remains ongoing at this time” into the deaths of the two mens, and the NYC Office of Chief Medical Examiner did not respond to their request for more information. The cause of death of both men is pending at this time.
