90 Day Men getting Numero Group box set ‘I Blame Chicago’ (hear a previously unreleased song)

Numero Group’s latest love letter to the ’90s will be a box set for 90 Day Men, the Midwest post-hardcore group (who extended into the early-’00s) that included Brian Case (Disappears, FACS), Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe (Lichens), Cayce Key, and Chandler McWilliams. Titled We Blame Chicago, the 5-LP set includes the band’s three studio albums, remastered by Heba Kadry, along with a 2001 Peel Session, EPs, singles, outtakes and other rare and unreleased material. It’s out January 19.

Along with all the music, there is also a 60-page booklet featuring rare photos and other ephemera, as well as a 68-page oral history curated by Joan of Arc’s Tim Kinsella featuring the the band and others, including At the Drive In/The Mars Volta‘s Cedric Bixler-Zavala, The Get Up Kids‘ Matt Pryor and Rob Pope, John Congleton, Sean Tillman, Justin Chearno (Panthers, Pitchblende), and more.

There is also a “Silver And Snow Variant” edition available exclusively through Numero Group’s website that comes with a bonus cassette, Orbit To Orbit, featuring 90 Day Men’s first-ever 7”, Taking Apart The Vessel, along with eight previously unreleased tracks from the band’s earliest days. You can listen to one of those, “Untitled 01,” and watch an unboxing video below.
