A$AP Rocky has shared a new single titled “Riot (Rowdy Pipe’n),” which he co-produced with Pharrell Williams.
Naturally, “Riot (Rowdy Pipe’n)” begins with Pharrell’s signature crotchet production label, this time delivered via triumphant horns. The track earns its title with a hefty beat that feels tailor-made for jumping and fist-thumping, with plenty of “woo” thrown in throughout for good effect.
Rocky cuts between lyrics, a repertoire fit for a motivational speaker — “We grow, we learn, we live / Contrary to quiet,” he spits on the refrain — and his classic braggadocio: “My wife is erotic, and I suck exotic,” he continues in one of the poems. Considering he’s talking about Rihanna, we can’t totally disagree with him. Play Rocky and Pharrell’s “Riot (Rowdy Pipe’n)” below.
In December, Rocky shared the single “Shitting’ Me,” which appears on video game soundtracks Need for Speed: Unchained. He also recently cameoed on the new deluxe edition of Tyler, the Creator’s 2021 album If you get lost, please call me. He and Rihanna are also currently expecting the birth of their first child, RZA Athelston Mayers’ sibling, who we hope will be named after the rap legend as well.
