For fans of superior poppy indie rock, here’s a very appealing double bill: Toronto band Alvvays and New Zealand’s The Beths will be touring together this summer. So far it’s just West Coast dates, with August stops in San Luis Obispo, Oakland, Portland, Seattle, Spokane, Boise and Denver, but let’s hope more get announced.
For The Beths, those are the only 2024 dates on their current schedule, but Alvvays are very busy this year, starting with an appearance at My Morning Jacket’s One Big Holiday destination festival, followed by a spring North American tour (including the stops at Austin Psych Fest, the Kilby Block Party, and Just Like Heaven), UK/EU dates this summer, and a DC-area show opening for Mitski after the run with The Beths.
