The North American leg of the trek departs on November 3 from Baltimore, Maryland and ends December 10 in Brooklyn, New York.
Live Nation pre-sales for select dates will begin Wednesday (July 19th) at 10am local time via Ticketmaster using the code legend, while general ticket sales will begin Friday (July 21) at 10 a.m. local time. Back in May, Angel Du$t released the singles “Very Aggressive” and “Love Slam,” both of which will be included on the upcoming album. They freed another Ripper via “Space Jam.” For 99 seconds, frontman Justice Tripp and his cohorts check out all the options: mosh-induced slam chords, thrash-style breakdowns, open drum hits (with bass solos), and rich melodies.
In a new interview with Stereogum, Tripp offers the following about the sonic vision behind Angel Du$t. “What the name Angel Du$t means is that there were some bands in the ’80s that were trying to make pop, pop-rock, but they were on the PCP,” he said. “In the ’80s, fools were sucking up a lot of angel dust and it was driving them crazy. We were like, this is the theme. We’re going to make pop rock songs and play them fast. That’s really the whole theme of the music.”
Tripp is in charge of producing new soul, mixing by Paul Mercer engineering staff with Rob Schnapf and Steve Wright. This is the first Angel Du$t LP, and it features the band’s current guitarists Daniel Star and Steve Marino, bassist Zechariah Ghostribe and drummer Thomas Cantwell (although longtime members from Turnstile Daniel Fang and Patrick McCrory still appear in the band ) to select a song).
“While I say these songs are written by me and produced by me, it might sound like my record, but it’s not,” Tripp said. “Everyone made it special and I’m grateful for my team. Obviously, there’s a shadow of me in everything I do, but Angel Du$t is collaborative in spirit. Without some collaboration element, it wouldn’t be Angel Du$t.”
