The 2024 Grammys‘ In Memoriam segment began with Stevie Wonder playing “For Once in my Life” and “The Best Is Yet To Come” (including a duet with an AI generated version of the late Tony Bennett). Annie Lennox, joined by Wendy and Lisa, paid tribute to Sinéad O’Connor next with an emotional rendition of “Nothing Compares 2 U,” which she followed by calling for a ceasefire in Palestine, saying “artists for ceasefire, peace in the world.”
Also performing during the segment were Jon Batiste (who covered Bill Withers and was joined by Ann Nesby) and Fantasia Barrino (who covered Tina Turner). Watch video clips below.
