big thief released a new single “Vampire Empire,” on which they previously performed Colbert They have played regularly on tour since last fall. It’s a great song that lets Big Thief embrace their tough side (like “Not”), says Adrianne Lenker:
For me, it’s about breaking free from toxic internal patterns – leaving behind the energy-draining empire that belies the pure essence, knowing what healthy boundaries are, and finding the strength to live them up in order to realize the possibility of giving and receiving (inner and outer In) unbroken and limitless love.
The song will be released on 4AD in October on a 7-inch version, accompanied by “Born For Loving You,” which Big Thief also played live recently.
Big Thief’s Buck Meek is also preparing for his 4AD solo debut haunted mountain, he will tour Racket, New York on October 27th. All dates and more information can be found here.
