Surprise! UK band bar italia have announced their second album of 2023, The Twits, which will be out November 3 via Matador. Nina Cristante, Jezmi Tarik Fehmi and Sam Fenton recorded the album over Febraury and March at a “makeshift studio” in Mallorca, Spain and it finds them playing with longer song structures. Their first album for Matador, Tracy Denim, was released in May.
The first single from the album is its opening cut, “my little tony,’ which has Cristante, Fehmi and Fenton still trading off lines, but musically it’s a little noisier and a little poppier. You can watch the video below.
The band will be back in North America later this fall for their first proper tour — they played NYC and L.A. in June — including NYC shows at Elsewhere on December 3 and Bowery Ballroom on December 4. They’ve also announced spring dates that currently kick off March 20 in Atlanta. All dates are listed below.
