The great Barbara Manning (S.F. Seals, World of Pooh) hasn’t released a new album in 20 years. While we’re still waiting for that next record, she has just announced a new compilation, Charm of Yesterday…Convenience of Tomorrow, which will be out December 8 via Ba Da Bing. It collects her 2016 Chico Daze EP (previously only out via Bandcamp) and a variety of cover songs recorded during covid lockdown. You can listen to two songs now: her cover of Elliott Smith’s “Twilight” and original “I’m Running.” Check those out below.
Ba Da Bing says Barbara is working on new music as well, so stay tuned. Meanwhile, she’s on tour with Codeine this month, including NYC’s Bowery Ballroom on Saturday, November 9. All dates are listed below.
