The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will release the tickets for the 2023 World Cup match between India and Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai today (Thursday, October 26). The game is scheduled to be played next Thursday, November 2.
The tickets will go live on the ticketing website BookMyShow.com at 12 pm IST. The BCCI captioned the post:
“Are you geared up to witness Team India in action at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai? Tickets for India’s CWC league game against Sri Lanka in Mumbai go LIVE today! 12 PM IST.”
India and Sri Lanka had last locked horns in the 2023 Asia Cup final, where the Men in Blue emerged victorious by 10 wickets, courtesy of Mohammed Siraj’s 6/21. The fans will be eager to witness a hat-trick of wins for India against Lanka in the World Cups. India won the 2011 (final) and 2019 editions by six and seven wickets, respectively.
Overall, Team India are yet to lose against Sri Lanka in their last five World Cup matches. The Islanders won their last ODI game against India (second-string team) by three wickets in July 2021.
How India and Sri Lanka have fared in 2023 World Cup so far?
India made a stunning start to their World Cup campaign by defeating five-time champions Australia by six wickets. The hosts then made light work against Afghanistan (eight wickets), Pakistan, and Bangladesh (won both games by seven wickets).
The Men in Blue, however, had to fight hard against New Zealand in their four-wicket win to stretch their unbeaten streak to five games. India will face defending champions England on Sunday before the Sri Lanka clash.
On the other hand, Sri Lanka finally registered a win by defeating the Netherlands by five wickets. That came after losing three consecutive games against South Africa (102 runs), Pakistan (six wickets) and Australia (five wickets). Lanka will face England today ahead of the India clash.
