On Monday (12/11), Beach House played an intimate, last minute duo show in Philadelphia, the first of what they said would be several two-piece shows they had planned for the coming year. They followed that by a surprise opening set at night six of Yo La Tengo’s Hanukkah run at Bowery Ballroom on Tuesday (12/13), where Victoria Legrand also joined YLT for a cover of Velvet Underground’s “Pale Blue Eyes,” and they stuck around on Wednesday night (12/13), to play somewhere even smaller. This one was at TV Eye (capacity 250) and the band announced it via Instagram stories on Wednesday afternoon.
Beach House said that their duo shows would focus on songs from their 2006 self-titled album, Devotion, and Thank Your Lucky Stars, but Wednesday night’s show also included cuts from Depression Cherry, Once Twice Melody, Bloom, and more. See the setlist, and a few attendee-taken videos below.
