Belfast, Ireland rap group Kneecap, who earlier this year signed to Heavenly Recordings, have just shared a new single, “Better Way To Live,” which features Fontaines D.C. frontman Grian Chatten. He raps — and holds his own — alongside the band. Fontaines drummer Tom Call also features on the song.
“‘A Better Way To Live’ is all about finding that little spark of joy in the monotony, in the day-to-day things that you barely bat an eye at,” say Kneecap. “In between the moments of that repetitive lift of the pint, or spark of a cigarette, there is an opportunity for bliss. underneath that constant noise, there is a silence that can breathe new life and inspiration breaking through the mundane.”
You can watch the video, which was directed by Peadar Ó Goill and filmed at Madden’s Bar in Belfast, below.
Kneecap have also announced a 2024 North American tour which happens in the spring and includes a Brooklyn show at Warsaw on March 23. Tickets for all dates go on sale Friday, November 17 at 10 AM local time. Check out their schedule below.
In other news, The Kneecap Biopic Film, which was written and directed by Rich Peppiatt (One Rogue Reporter) and stars Michael Fassbender, is due for release in early 2024, so keep an eye out for that.
