Producer and Fort Apache Studios founder Gary Smith died last year and a bunch of friends and artists who worked with him will pay tribute to him and the music produced at his studio at a two-day tribute in Boston in March.
The first night of “Fort Nights: A Celebration of Gary Smith & the Music of Fort Apache Studios” happens March 15 at The Crystal Ballroom with Buffalo Tom, Tanya Donelly, Fuzzy (who have only played a few shows since breaking up in 1999), and special guests TBA; the second night is March 16 at Somerville Theatre with Billy Bragg, Kristin Hersh, Arc Iris, a duo set by Buffalo Tom’s Bill Janovitz & Tanya Donelly, and “very special” guests.
Tickets for these shows go on sale Friday, January 12 at 10 AM ET, with a presale starting January 10 at 10 AM using code GARY.
