So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
WORLDS GREATEST DAD – “CONCRETE (A LOVE SONG)”
Atlanta’s worlds greatest dad have shared a new chill indie-punk song that the band says is “all about good old-fashioned domestic bliss.”

JULIE BYRNE WITH LAUGH CRY LAUGH – “’22”
Julie Byrne’s new EP with Taryn Blake Miller and Emily Fontana as Julie Byrne with Laugh Cry Laugh is out this Friday, and ahead of its release she’s shared a second single, the beautiful, heartfelt “’22.”

GULFER – “CLEAN”
Montreal emo band Gulfer embrace their bright, poppy side on new single “Clean.”

BLEACHERS – “ALMA MATER” FT. LANA DEL REY
Bleachers’ new self-titled album is due out on March 8 via Dirty Hit (their first for the label), and they’ve shared the woozy, horn-laden “Alma Mater,” which features Jack Antonoff’s regular collaborator Lana Del Rey, harmonies from Clairo, and vocals and guitar from Bartees Strange.

LORD DYING – “THE ENDLESS ROAD HOME”
Portland progressive sludge band Lord Dying will release their new LP Clandestine Transcendence on January 19 via MNRK Heavy, and here’s closing track “The Endless Road Home.”

LUCIUS – “STRANGER DANGER”
Lucius have shared their first new music since their 2022 album Second Nature. It’s their first release for Fantasy Records, and they say, “Humans have imagined a backup plan – a ‘savior’ to forgive us, to save us, to lean on…for ourselves, if and when things go wrong but who/what/where is the backup plan for Mother Earth?”

SWEET WILLIAM & KOTA THE FRIEND – “ME TIME”
Sweet William and Kota the Friend team up for this laid-back, blissful new rap song.

ANAMANAGUCHI & JOSEPH TRAPANESE – “MEETING RAMONA” & “ORANGE SHIRT”
The new Scott Pilgrim Takes Off anime, voiced by the cast of 2010’s Scott Pilgrim Vs The World and written and developed by original Scott Pilgrim graphic novel writer and artist Bryan Lee O’Malley and BenDavid Grabinski, arrives on Netflix on this Friday. Anamanaguchi and Joseph Trapanese are also back for the soundtrack, which you can hear two songs from now.

SPIRIT CRUSHER – “D.O.R.” & “CENTER OF NOTHING”
Spirit Crusher are a German hardcore band who say their core influences are NYHC, the ’90s, and straightedge, and you can hear those vibes coming through on this new two-song single for Triple B.

HAYWIRE – “POSER DISPOSER” (ft. COA)
Boston hardcore band Haywire and Colin from COA have some choice words for posers on this brash new single.

BLOOM – “MAYBE IN ANOTHER LIFE”
Australian melodic metalcore band Bloom will release new album Maybe In Another Life on February 15 via Pure Noise (their first for the label), and here’s the slick, 2000s-style title track.

DELASI – “PERCEPTION”
Ghanaian singer/rapper Delasi shares a groovy cut from upcoming EP Audacity of Free Thought, due January 19 via Brownswood Recordings.

BEN FROST – “TURNING THE PRISM”
Electronic producer and composer Ben Frost is back with his first new studio music in six years. “Turning the Prism” is sleek, jet-black and pummelling.

JAAKKO EINO KALEVI – “HELL & HEAVEN” FT. FAUX REAL
Finnish musician Jaakko Eino Kalevi releases his loungey new album Chaos Magic on Friday and here’s one of the delightful duets from it. “Hell & Heaven” plays like twisted cabaret and features Faux Real.

PACKS – “HFCS”
“Why do people gamble? Why do people take leaps of faith? Why do people like winning? Why do people drink coke?,” asks PACKS’ Madeline Link. “Why is corn such a heavily subsidized crop for U.S. farmers? Why are you addicted to that thing you wish you wouldn’t do but that you can’t help but do?” “HFCS” packs sugary hooks and fuzzy guitars into thoughtful message. PACKS’ new album Melt The Honey is out January 19 via Fire Talk.

NOUVELLE VAGUE – “ONLY YOU” (YAZOO COVER)
Two decades on, Nouvelle Vague are still making loungey, Brazilian-influenced covers of new wave songs and have just announced new album Should I Stay or Should I Go that will be out February 16 via PIAS. Here’s their swinging take on Yaz/Yazoo classic “Only You.”

MEI SEMONES – “WAKARE NO KOTOBA”
Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Mei Semones has signed to Bayonet Records and released her first single for the label. “Wakare No Kotoba” (“Words of Farewell”) is a lovely slice of indiepop with some serious guitar chops.

THE LEMONHEADS – “FEAR OF LIVING”
This is the first taste of The Lemonheads’ first proper album in 18 years.

FINNOGUNS WAKE – “BLUE SKIES”
Finnoguns Wake, the new band featuring from former Royal Headache frontman Tim “Shogun” Wall, will release their debut EP, Stay Young, on January 26. This is the terrific first single.

KNEECAP – “BETTER WAY TO LIVE” FT GRIAN CHATTEN
Belfast, Ireland rap group Kneecap, who earlier this year signed to Heavenly Recordings, have just shared a new single, “Better Way To Live,” which features Fontaines D.C. frontman Grian Chatten. He raps — and holds his own — alongside the band. Fontaines drummer Tom Call also features on the song.

CARPOOL – “CAN WE JUST GET HIGH?”
Having recently signed to SideOneDummy, Rochester emo band Carpool have now announced their first album for the label, My Life In Subtitles. Read about lead single “Can We Just Get High?” here.
