The 2023 edition of When We Were Young went down on October 21 and 22 at Las Vegas Festival Grounds, headlined by blink-182 and Green Day. They both played new songs at each night of the fest, which for blink-182 were their first and second shows since the release of their new album One More Time. Green Day played their at the time not-yet-released song “The American Dream is Killing Me,” on Saturday night, days before they’d announce a new album, Saviors; they played another new one, “Look Ma, No Brains,” on Sunday.
WWWY 2023 also featured surprise appearances by Avril Lavigne (who played “Sk8er Boi” with All Time Low on day one), Tony Hawk (who sang “Superman” with Goldfinger on day one), and Lil Wayne (who joined Good Charlotte on day two); and the fest also included Joyce Manor, New Found Glory, Citizen, Motion City Soundtrack, Michelle Branch, No Pressure, Saves The Day, Something Corporate, Sum 41, Turnover, The Movielife, Beach Bunny, Hot Mulligan, and much more.
