Cast, the Britpop vets led by onetime La’s member John Power, have announced their seventh album, Love is the Call, which will be out early next year. It was made with most of the same lineup — Power (vocals/guitar), Liam ‘Skin’ Tyson (guitar) and Keith O’Neill (drums) — that gave us their great 1995 album All Change and it was produced by Killing Joke bassist Youth.
While full details on the album haven’t been shared, Cast have released Love is the Call‘s title track, which is in the same jangly earworm tradition as “Alright” and “Finetime.” Power says it’s “a cosmic call to arms, for Love is the Call… Calling… Calling.”
