The multiple Award-winning Nigerian-born Afrobeats singer, who is signed to Jonzing World Record owned by D’Prince and affiliated with Mavin Records, and Selena Marie Gomez an American singer, actress and producer. Regarded as one of the most influential figures in contemporary popular culture, also known for her whisper-like vocals and extensive work across film and television has solidified Afrobeat on international ground with their collab Calm Down.
Rema solidified his international dominance after releasing his 2022 hit single Calm Down, the remix with American singer Selena Gomez which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and led the U.S. Afrobeats Songs for a record-setting 52 weeks. The success of Calm Down not only marks Gomez’s first No. 1 on the Radio Songs chart but also Rema’s first chart-topping track. While Rema has only one notable chart win to his credit, Gomez has come close to conquering this tally before, with her song Same Old Love peaking at No. 3 eight years ago. Calm Down by Rema & Selena Gomez has surpassed 1 BILLION streams on Spotify. It becomes Rema’s 1st and Selena’s 6th song to achieve this making it the First and only African song to achieve this.
