Cannibal Corpse have shared the music video for new song “Summoned for Sacrifice” ahead of their 16th studio album, Chaos Horrific, arriving September 22nd via Metal Blade.
The track is another filthy grinder from the death-metal masters. It’s as if the chords and arrangement were calculated specifically to keep the moshpit churning, with breakdowns and tempo changes piggy-backing off one another in a cascade of brutality. The accompanying performance clip only adds to the “live” feel of the song.
In a statement, drummer Paul Mazurkiewicz said the following about the fittingly gruesome lyrical content: “One person is randomly selected to die. Thirteen people are randomly selected to kill this person by violently removing pieces of his body until he breathes no more.”
Coinciding with the release of Chaos Horrific, Cannibal Corpse will embark on a month-long North American co-headlining jaunt with Mayhem and support acts Gorguts and Blood Incantation. It’s arguably the most anticipated extreme-metal tour package of 2023 and kicks off September 22nd in Nashville. You can get tickets via StubHub.
