Chanel Beads, the hazy musical project of NYC resident Shane Lavers, has announced his debut album Your Day Will Come, which will be out April 19 via Jagjaguwar. Lavers made it in his Brooklyn apartment with contributions from live bandmate Maya McGrory, who sings lead on a few songs, and violinist Zachary Paul.
“There was a filter to this record,” Lavers says. “If it didn’t move me while performing, then I couldn’t make it into a song. As much as I wanted to make something that was cool to the touch, I had to make something that made me feel something.”
The album includes previously released song “Police Scanner,” and the new single is “Idea June,” which comes in two forms: the album version is spare and acoustic, while the version in the music video goes full shoegaze and is a minute longer.
