Cherry Glazerr returns with new album September 29 I don’t want you anymore. As a preview, bandleader Clementine Creevy shared the record’s lead single, “Soft Like a Flower.”
Creevey explained in a press release i don’t want you anymore marks her “most personal and raw music to date,” in part because of the serenity the pandemic has imposed on her. “I’ve been taking a hard look at myself and my relationships over the years and writing about them,” she added. “When you’re always leaving [for tour], you don’t quite know where you stand in your relationship, romantic or otherwise. You’re not considering the work of maintaining them. “
In the eerie, brooding “Soft as a Flower,” Creevey seems to assess his place in an overdependent relationship, recalling experiences of delusions and total surrender. “I love that you killed me,” she repeats to the accompaniment of wall-of-sound guitar.
