code orange The highly anticipated 2020 follow-up has finally been announced Down.it’s known above, which will be available on September 29th via Blue Grape Music. above Produced by the band’s own Jami Morgan and Eric “Shade” Balderose, and designed by Steve Albini. Jamie said: “We wanted this album to shock you with melody, aggression and joy, but just as importantly, the closer you look, the more you’re rewarded. It’s an album rooted in ‘like ‘things’ feel.” “The world, but connecting things together through the cues of digital reality. We wanted the sound and even the recording process itself to reflect this edict, so we hired Steve Albini from Electrical Audio to get the most authentic, The most original version, even for the first time in our careers we were all recorded in one room at the same time.”
Code Orange kicked off the announcement with two aggressive singles, “Grooming My Replacement” and “The Game,” both of which appeared on the LP, but on new single “Take Shape.” But it showed a completely different side. Drawing inspiration from turn-of-the-century industrial rock and nu metal, it feels like one of the band’s most widespread hits to date.It also has Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins, whose collaboration with the band was first teased more than two years ago. Its accompanying music video is also reminiscent of the 90s/early 2000s, featuring Jami Morgan in the title role and co-directing with Max Moore, marking Jamie’s directorial debut . The video’s storyline picks up where the “Grooming My Replacement” video left off. Jamie says:
I spent about a year and a half working on the concept for this video and others. I am so grateful to be able to sit under the learning tree with Max Moore and our DP Eric Robbins. They involved me in every minute of the process from recruiting, to scouting, all the way to the final coloring. Going so deep was a revelation, and I found new love along the way. I’m very proud of the result.
