As the follow-up to the critically acclaimed 2020 LP, Down, the new project is self-produced by Jami Morgan and Eric “Shade” Balderose, with engineering by Steve Albini. Along with the release of the album, the band also shared the single and music video for “Take Shape,” featuring Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan.

video A continuation of Raising My Replacement, the protagonist escapes from his captor and arrives in a new reality. Finally, he steps out of a building into a world of color that feels like something out of a Ghibli movie.
“We want this album to feel melodic, aggressive and joyful, but just as importantly, the more you look, the more rewarding you are,” Morgan says. “It feels rooted in the ‘analog’ world, but ties things together with cues from digital reality. We wanted the sound and even the recording process itself to reflect this edict, so we hired Steve Albini from Electrical Audio to get the best possible cues from the band. Authentic, raw versions, even recording all of our voices in one room at the same time for the first time in our careers.”
