He continued: “To be honest, the gallery is still humble. But the presentation of artworks would be watched by people around the world. We thought the Met would be a right place and they also wanted our artworks because of higher demand for кσяєαn culture. They wanted modern works, not ancient ones. Then, that was less burdensome for us and the first lady and BTS would present modern works of choice. The gallery has become kind of a BTS spot. Many did not know the Met has a кσяєαn gallery.”
Therefore, he and the Blue House contacted the Metropolitan Museum of Art, but: “Actually, when we first told the museum that we were willing to donate artworks, they said we should wait. That’s because a lot of valuable works are on the waiting list. Then I said, “Oh, we don’t have much time. Actually, BTS and the first lady were supposed to visit you. If so, we’d like to find another museum.” Before I finished, everything was worked out well. I said, “Didn’t you say you were busy?” Their attitude was changed…”
He continued: “At first, they suggested having a simple event, but finally they were considerate enough to hold an event on the Roof Garden and showed the first lady around their storage facilities. They just asked for one thing. They said, “We appreciate your visit, and it would be nice of you to visit us after our opening hours.” We did their favor.
And of course, we have seen the power of BTS. With BTS and the First Lady of кσяєα, the museum not only welcomes the present on display, but also solemnly welcomes BTS and the First Lady during their visit. They even hold a special event to welcome First Lady and BTS to the museum.
Not only giving full praise to BTS, the secretary also commented on BTS’s appearance at SDG and their speech.
