So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
SOFIA KOURTESIS – “HOW MUSIC MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER”
“During every storm, during every ups and downs, pain and grief, music is always the most beautiful thing that is going to make you feel better,” Sofia Kourtesis says of the latest single off her upcoming debut album, Madres. It’s out on October 27 via Ninja Tune.

PETER GABRIEL – “THIS IS HOME”
Peter Gabriel has been releasing songs from his upcoming album i/o on the full moon, and here is September’s. “This is Home” has held the penultimate slot in his current tour‘s main setlist and we’ve now got the studio version which was born out of a songwriting session with Skrillex. The EDM star doesn’t appear on the finished version of the song Gabriel says it wouldn’t have gotten where it is without him. “I think it is good for me to be taken outside my normal comfort zone sometimes.”

ME REX – “INFINITY WORM”
“Inspired by It Came from Outer Space and alien encounter movies like Galaxy Quest, District 9 and ET, Myles McCabe says of ME REX’s anthemic new single. “‘Infinity Worm’ sees monstrous angels descending, leaving a fragmented sky behind, creatures that are torn to pieces regenerating anew and trying to find a place in the world. It’s a song about affirming humanity and inherent value.” It’s from Giant Elk, out in October.

PAINT IT BLACK – “DOMINION”
Paint it Black’s first album in a decade, Famine, is on the way in November, and they’ve shared the second single. “This song is our attempt to address our country’s frightening slide into right wing theocracy,” they say. “Aside from direct assaults on reproductive freedom and free speech, the nastiest trick that religious fundamentalism plays on the faithful is the promise of a better life after the one we’re currently living. Rather than critiquing or challenging an economic arrangement that guarantees a life of toil and struggle or abject poverty for most humans, so that a very small number of people can accumulate wealth, we’re offered the narrative that suffering in this life has meaning and will grant us admission into the hereafter. In this way, fundamentalist organized religion protects power and wealth. The idea that the natural world was created for humans to exploit is the reason the world is on fire.”

MARNIE STERN – “BELIEVING IS SEEING”
“‘Believing Is Seeing’ is about trying to build a world of music through different sounds,” Marnie Stern says, “and how you can create your own cohesive universe through these sounds.” Her new album The Comeback Kid is out November 3.

MARINA HERLOP – “KARADA”
Catalan experimental artist Marina Herlop has shared a lovely, harp-fueled taste of upcoming album Nekkuja.

KNUCKLE PUCK – “LOSING WHAT WE LOVE”
Chicago pop punks Knuckle Puck have said that their new album Losing What We Love shows off a darker side, and that definitely comes across on this new single.

BAYWAY – “STRETCHIN THA TRUTH” (ft. ANT MONEY of E.TOWN CONCRETE)
NJ rapcore band Bayway will release World of Bayway Volume 2 on October 27 via DAZE, and first single “Stretchin Tha Truth” features a NJ rapcore veteran, Ant Money of E.Town Concrete.

Holy Fawn’s heavy, atmospheric, genre-defying music sounds as towering as ever on this new single.

THE ATOM AGE – “I WAS A ROCK N ROLL NARCISSIST”
Bay Area garage punks The Atom Age‘s new self-titled album comes out tomorrow (9/29) via Asian Man Records, and here’s one more single. Read more here.

DAFT PUNK – “WITHIN (DRUMLESS EDITION)”
Daft Punk is taking all the drums out of their hit 2013 album Random Access Memories for a new, chiller version of the record in celebration of its 10th anniversary. It may sound strange but this drumless version of “Within” featuring Chilly Gonzalez works.

SPEEDY ORTIZ – “TIGER TANK” (REMASTERED)
Speedy Ortiz is releasing a 10th anniversary edition on Major Arcana on November 17. “Speedy made Major Arcana in a flash of momentum—four days of recording at Sonelab with our pal Justin Pizzoferrato, paid for with the cash we scrounged up on a summer tour of this country’s basements,” says bandleader Sadie Dupuis. “‘Tour tight’-ness was always our paramount goal, and I’d say we were sufficiently road-tested when we hammered out these fourteen songs, all of them stuffed to the brim with harmonies, guitarmonies, percussion, key overdubs written on the fly. Though the 10 songs that made the album have morphed and mutated thanks to the stages they’ve graced across the past decade, when I listen back to the original recordings, I still hear our boundless energy, hunger for the highway, and excitement to play with our friends—and our dearest wish, to pay homage to the Massachusetts scenes that welcomed us so warmly.” Check out this remastered version of “Tiger Tank.”

LYNKS – “NEW BOYFRIEND”
“Look, ultimately I think I’m a fairly smart, reasonable, logical young person,” Lynks says of his fun new single. “I’ve done therapy. I give excellent dating advice. I know that a healthy breakup is a clean breakup. No footnotes, no P.S., no post-credits sequence shags. And yet the second I’m in the throes of a breakup, all that logic and intelligence evaporates. And I become what I clearly always was; a dog, cosplaying as a well adjusted human man. Unable to resist the stick when someone says ‘FETCH.’ I’m not proud of it. But I also don’t think I’m alone. That’s what this song is about; lovely, kind, thoughtful, intelligent, well-adjusted couples turning into chaotic horny monsters the second they break up.”

“Sweet Sounds of Heaven” is the sort of slow ramble The Rolling Stones perfected 50 years ago and still do pretty well, here with help from Lada Gaga and Stevie Wonder.

MADNESS – “C’EST LA VIE”
Theatre Of The Absurd Presents C’est La Vie is the UK ska-pop hitmakers Madness’ 13th album and first in seven years. It’s out November 17 and this is the title track.
