As Bad Brains vocalist HR continues to struggle with “increasingly debilitating” SUNCT (Short-lasting Unilateral Neuralgiform with Conjunctival injection and Tearing) headaches, a bunch of great musicians are coming together to play a benefit show for him in Los Angeles on December 11 at Teragram Ballroom.
The lineup includes a Bad Brains ‘hardcore celebration set’ from Fishbone members Angelo Moore and Norwood Fisher and former Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo, as well as a ‘Dubside of Brains’ set that also features Norwood Fisher alongside ’90s-era Bad Brains vocalist Israel Joseph I, Beastie Boys affiliate Money Mark, veteran reggae drummer Santa Davis, and Mad Lion.
There will also be a set from surviving Sublime members Eric Wilson and Bud Daugh, with the late Bradley Nowell’s son Jakob Nowell on vocals/guitar; as well as Subatomic Sound System, a comedy set by Fred Armisen, an all-vinyl DJ set from Beastie Boys collaborator Mario C, Jah Faith, and surprise guests.
Tickets are on sale now, and 100% of proceeds will benefit HR and his family.
There’s also a GoFundMe to help support HR.
