Silver Jews / Purple Mountains leader David Berman would’ve turned 57 on January 4, 2024 — he died in 2019 — but fans around the world celebrate his life and music on that day, which has since been dubbed DCBday.
In NYC, there will be a DCBday show at Bowery Ballroom, where they will celebrate Silver Jews’ classic third album, American Water (which just turned 25). The whole lineup of acts has yet to be revealed but includes Magesties (Baltimore), The Blue Arrangements (NYC), Peers In the Bunklight (Philadelphia), Cartoons (Kentucky) and “special guests to be announced.”
Tickets are on sale now and proceeds from the concert will benefit the NYC Chapter of American Society for Suicide Prevention and Music Cares. Check out the show poster below.
