The Stones & Brian Jones is the latest documentary from sometimes controversial director Nick Broomfield, who made Kurt & Courtney, Biggie & Tupac, Whitney: Can I Be Me, and more. It’s out in theaters for one night only on November 7 before hitting digital platforms on November 17.
The film explores the life of Rolling Stones founder Brian Jones, his rivalry with Mick Jagger & Keith Richards, and his ousting from the band and untimely death in 1969 at age 27. Here’s the official synopsis: “Featuring revealing interviews with all the main players and unseen archive released for the first time, The Stones and Brian Jones explores the creative musical genius of Jones, key to the success of the band, and uncovers how the founder of what became the greatest rock ‘n’ roll band in the world was left behind in the shadows of history.”
