Death metal veteran Dying Fetus returns with a new album, let them die, September 8. Ahead of its release, the band shared an NSFW video for lead single “Feast of Ashes.”
For over three decades, Dying Fetus has been pushing death metal to the extreme— brutal Death metal, if you will. Feast of Ashes is a perfect fit for the band’s storied record, delivering a devastating onslaught of techno riffs, pinch harmonies and precise rhythmic timing. The gurgles and growls seep into any cracks left in the song’s over-heavy arrangements.
“Where did it start wrong object Drummer Trey Williams on the new album produced by Steve Wright. “We don’t need to be in a tech death metal arms race. We have powerful weapons, and we’ve proven it. It’s all about pointing them in the right direction, so to speak.”
speak of wrong object, Dying Fetus appear to have used the title of their last album as the premise for their “Ash Feast” video. Directed by Blvckbox Studios, this video depicts a hilariously violent revenge murder that’s not for the faint of heart. Viewers are advised to decide for themselves.
To support the album’s release, Dying Fetus is embarking on an autumn US tour with a series of support packages including The Acacia Strain, Despished Icon, Creeping Death and Tactosa. The dates start October 17th in Cincinnati and run through November 18th in Baltimore.
Live Nation tickets will be available for pre-sale on Ticketmaster starting Thursday (July 13) at 10am local time using the code legend. You can also collect your tickets through StubHub, and your purchase is 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s Fan Protection Program.
