Earl Sweatshirt and The Alchemist have brought their long-awaited joint album, Voir Dire, to major streaming services after initially only making it available on the NFT platform Gala Music. Stream it via Apple Music or Spotify below.
In the days leading up to its original release, The Alchemist drummed up anticipation for the project on his Instagram account. After sharing a brief audio clip, he teased the tracklist and announced a joint show at the Jazz Cafe in London taking place on August 25th.
Besides the album’s sole single, “Sentry” featuring MIKE, the only place to hear the full project at first was Gala, a streaming platform that utilizes blockchain technology and offers NFTs connected to releases. Earl and The Alchemist later released the video for another track, “The Caliphate” featuring Vince Staples, before bringing the full album to streaming on October 6th.
Fans have been anticipating a joint project from Earl and The Alchemist since the producer tweeted about a secret album hidden on YouTube under a fake name back in 2019. Voir Dire marks the first full-length effort from the duo, despite establishing their creative partnership as far back as 2012 and making near-appointment appearances on each other’s projects ever since, including The Alchemist’s 2021 EP This Thing of Ours and Earl Sweatshirt’s most recent solo album, 2022’s SICK!
Most recently, Earl jumped on The Alchemist’s Flying High EP for the lead track “RIP Tracy” in June.
To support the release, Earl Sweatshirt and The Alchemist will embark on the “Voir Dire Tour” beginning in November. Earl is also set to appear at Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival. Look for seats and deals here, and for tickets to his international dates, visit Viagogo.
