Experimental pop artist Eartheater released Powders, the first half of a planned pair of records, in September (Afterbirth is set to follow in 2024), and she wrapped up her 2023 tour supporting it in Brooklyn on Friday night, the second of two shows she headlined at Elsewhere. Friday night found a sweaty, packed house ready to dance and sing along to every word as Eartheater delivered her Powders material (her eerie cover of System of a Down‘s “Chop Suey!” included); she also played a few songs each from 2019’s Trinity and 2020’s Phoenix: Flames Are Dew Upon My Skin.
