So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.
FEVER RAY – CARBON DIOXIDE (AVALON EMERSON REMIX)
In anticipation of their fall North American tour which starts 10/7, Fever Ray have shared this excellent remix of Radical Romantics‘ “Carbon Dioxide” by Avalon Emerson. Karin Dreijer says: “I’m very happy for this one! It has fruitiness, a bit of extra everything, exactly what the song wanted. We started sending stuff back and forth early on and some of my first vocal recordings ended up in there as well. Hope you’ll enjoy it!”

Seattle’s Filth Is Eternal have shared one last early taste of new album, Find Out, before it drops this week. Says frontperson Lis Di Angelo, “I wanted to mash two of my favorite things together, Black Box Theater and Lynchian Style, and marry that with something I overheard a stranger say that has occupied space in the back of my mind for years: ‘This is all a dream, and you will spend the entirety of your existence at the center of a push-pull event, somewhere between owning this dream and this dream owning you.’”

But over the past few years, I’ve finally learned to embrace my natural voice. It’s as if my fear of my voice vanished over the past few years. Now it feels exhilarating to be so exposed.” You can hear Adam Miller sing on these two songs from his upcoming solo EP, Illusion Pool, which is out November 10.”

THANK YOU, I’M SORRY – “MIRROR”
Minneapolis band Thank You I’m Sorry will release new album Growing In Strange Places this Friday and they’ve just shared one last early taste. “This is one of the first songs I wrote after we put out IGWF,” says the band’s Lleen Dow of the song’s subject matter. “Through ages 19 and 20 I had a lot of my own behavior presented to me front and center, and I went through non stop work to try to be better. I felt like I was constantly picking myself apart and figuring out what needed to be fixed next. No matter how hard I tried, there was always more in front of me that needed work. Unsurprisingly, that kind of thing does not have great results on your self image.”
