Excide have signed to SharpTone Records (Dying Wish, Foreign Hands, Loathe, etc), and their first release for the label is the two-song single Humdinger, featuring “Dis(re)member” and “All Down But 9.” The former finds them leaning more into melodic post-grunge/alt-metal territory more than ever, while the latter keeps the more caustic post-hardcore vibes of their 2022 debut LP Deliberate Revolver intact. “Dis(re)member” comes with a video directed and produced by Tyler Norris of Excide’s new labelmates Foreign Hands, and here’s what Excide vocalist Tyler Washington says about that one:
“Dis(re)member” is about leaving behind the person you were in the past. It doesn’t matter if it was a good or bad version of you. You’re simply not letting this person influence your current decisions and how you do things. The song fell together naturally and really showed where we’re at.
