Four Tet is putting the finishing touches on his new album. “Just finishing the artwork and making the vinyl and CDs,” he wrote in an Instagram story. While details are scarce — the album is “coming soon” — he did share the album’s opening track, “Loved.”
Set to a slowed down funky dreambeat, Four Tet is in his downtempo sweet spot on “Loved,” with warm washes of keyboards broken up by occasional crashes of thunder. Listen below.
Having played massive sets with Fred Again.. and dazzling runs with Squid Soup lighting in 2023, Four Tet will stay busy promoting the new album with live shows this year, too. Currently he’s got a few select international dates running now through August, and in North America, Bonnaroo in June and Mexico City’s Ceremonia fest in March. Check out his schedule below.
