Long-running Seattle sludge/post-hardcore band Great Falls (members of Kiss It Goodbye, Undertow, Playing Enemy, Bastard Feast, Gaytheist, and more) will release their new album Objects Without Pain on September 15 via Neurot Recordings (pre-order). The album was recorded and mixed by Kowloon Walled City’s Scott Evans and mastered by Brad Boatright, and we’re now premiering its second single “Old Words Worn Thin.” Compared to the bulldozing lead single “Trap Feeding,” this new eight-and-a-half minute song explores the band’s slower, sludgier side, and it’s a real trip.
“The song is about a couple breaking up, splitting up their belongings and then setting up their separate lives, with all the new complications and regrets and worries that come along with it,” the band tells us. “We chose this as a counterweight to the first single, ‘Trap Feeding’ as it’s a slower, longer, more dynamic song so people really know what they’re getting with the record.” Check out both singles below.
Great Falls are also gearing up for a Northeastern fall tour, including NYC’s TV Eye on October 11. Ticket info TBA. All dates are listed below.
