Greta Van Fleet have shared their third album titled star catcher. Stream it via Apple Music or Spotify below.
The album was recorded in Nashville with the band and Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb (Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit), which guitarist Jake Kiszka described as “very visceral” in a statement.for star catcherThe Michigan quartet aims to tackle big questions like “What is consciousness that we have? Where does it come from?” as bassist Sam Kiszka puts it, while also digging deeper into their mythology by revisiting concepts from their previous work, including 2021 Battle at the Garden Gate.
“The idea is that we want to build a universe by telling these stories,” shared drummer Danny Wagner. “We wanted to bring in characters, themes and ideas that would come out in this world during our careers.”
The LP’s release follows a string of singles from the band, including “Meeting the Master,” “Sacred the Thread,” “Farewell for Now” and “The Falling Sky,” the latter of which earns the song of the week honor. On a personal note, singer Josh Kiszka debuted in June, backed by Judas Priest’s Rob Halford.
