MIL-SPEC / DIZTORT / COLLATERAL
Toronto melodic hardcore band Mil-Spec released one of last year’s best punk albums with Marathon, and the band doesn’t tour very often, so it’s exciting that they’ll be hitting the road this year, with a Japan run in March followed by an East Coast US/Canada run in April. Even more exciting is that the US/Canada shows will be with the great California hardcore band Diztort and the fast-rising Florida hardcore band Collateral.
COALESCE
Furnace Fest returns to the Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, Alabama for an “end of an era” (though not necessarily final) edition from October 4-6, and they’ve been gradually rolling out the lineup. Today, they made a very exciting addition: mathcore/metalcore greats Coalesce‘s first-announced show in 12 years! No word yet on if they’re planning more, but stay tuned.
KONTUSION
Death metal band Kontusion (members of Mammoth Grinder, Repulsion, and more) recently gave their 2022 debut EP a vinyl release and now they’re celebrating with three shows, including one in Richmond, one at NJ’s Salty’s Beach Bar on 2/24 opening for Vomit Forth and Jarhead Fertilizer (alongside Silenus and Lunar Blood), and a headlining show at Ridegewood, NY’s TV Eye on 2/25 with Infandus, Vermindog, and Shatter. They also play Maryland Deathfest.
