After contributing a song to Touché Amoré vocalist Jeremy Bolm’s screamo compilation Balladeers, Redefined earlier this year, Infant Island have now announced a new album, Obsidian Wreath, due January 12 via Bolm’s label Secret Voice (pre-order). It was produced by past collaborator Matt Michel (of Majority Rule and Nø Man), and it features guest vocals from Greet Death members Harper Boyhtari & Logan Gaval on “Kindling,” .gif from god‘s Andrew Schwartz on “Another Cycle,” and contributions from members of Undeath, King Yosef, For Your Health, Senza, Malevich, Mikau, and more.
The first single is opening track “Another Cycle,” which finds Infant Island really leaning into their blackened, heavy side. It’s a hell of a first taste, and you can check it out below.
Infant Island are also playing some Northeast shows with another great screamo band, Massa Nera, in December, including Queens on December 15 (details TBA). All dates/cities below.
Infant Island also recently covered Boards of Canada’s “Dayvan Cowboy” for Middle-Man Records’ Grave Neighbors V.7 compilation.
