Legendary post-punk drummers Lol Tolhurst (ex-The Cure) and Budgie (ex-Siouxsie and the Banshees) have teamed up with producer Jacknife Lee for a new collaboration titled Lol Tolhurst x Budgie x Jacknife Lee. The trio will release their debut album, Los AngelesNov. 3 via “Play It Again Sam.”
Across the album’s 13 tracks, the band featured a number of well-known guest contributors, including U2’s The Edge, Modest Mouse’s Isaac Brock, Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie, IDLES’ Mark Bowden, Lonnie Holley and Mary Latimore. James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem also appears on two tracks, including the album’s title track/single. Take a look below.
Tolhurst also announced a new book, Gothic: A HistoryThe book promises to “deep into the stories and anecdotes from Torhurst’s personal memory, and the musicians, magicians, and artists who made goth an inescapable and enduring movement,” including The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Bauhaus, Joy Division, and more.
