Rising experimental-pop musician Jean Dawson has looped in SZA to collaborate on his new single, “NO SZNS.”
Over dreamy guitars, Dawson finds himself stuck in a cycle of sun and sex. “In the spring, you can’t hear a thing/All the birds and bees,” he sings. “Nobody think in the summer time/ People off the brink/In California, we ain’t got no seasons/ All the same to me/ ’Cause in the heat, like to press repeat/ Every day is every day.” SZA pops up for the second verse, adding her own anxious twist on the themes.
Since the release of her 2022 album SOS, SZA has kept herself busy collaborating with other artists, most recently on acoustic version of her song “Snooze” with Justin Bieber, as well as on Drake’s “Slime You.” She also recently launched a new leg of tour dates that runs through the middle of October.
