Texas singer/songwriter (and Plains member) Jess Williamson has announced a 2024 North American tour in support of her new album Time Ain’t Accidental. The tour kicks off in Philly on 2/22 and wraps up in LA on 3/16, hitting NYC, Toronto, Chicago, Portland, and more in between. Tickets go on sale Friday (11/17) at 10 AM local.
The NYC show happens February 24 at Bowery Ballroom. All dates are listed below.
In our review of Time Ain’t Accidental, we said: “It’s her most overtly country album yet, and it’s also her biggest, cleanest, most confident-sounding album, taking cues from some of the same popular country acts that inspired Plains, like Emmylou Harris and The Chicks. Like the Plains album, it was produced by Brad Cook, and it’s got a big, warm sound that’s perfect for the kind of songs Jess is writing right now, fleshed out with banjo, piano, steel guitar, and more, and still using some of the iPhone app drum machine beats that Jess programmed for some of the demos.” Read more here.
Before the 2024 tour, Jess will play an Austin show on December 15, at which she and Shakey Graves will perform their cover of Daniel Johnston’s “True Love Will Find You In The End” from the Texas Wild compilation.
