Equal Strain on All Parts, the 31st and final album from the late Jimmy Buffett, is out now.
Comprising 11 originals and three covers, Equal Strain on All Parts is a fitting final entry in Buffett’s studio catalog. It features an array of collaborators including Paul McCartney, Emmylou Harris, Angelique Kidjo, and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
Naturally, Equal Strain is a mostly lighthearted record, its title inspired by Buffett’s grandfather’s description of a good nap. With a tracklist including song names like “Fish Porn,” “My Gummie Just Kicked In,” “University of Bourbon Street,” and “Nobody Works on Friday,” it encapsulates the most important tenet in Buffett’s artistry: Having a good time.
Pre-orders for Equal Strain on All Parts are ongoing. Stream the record via Apple Music and Spotify below.
Buffett died this past September at the age of 76 after a prolonged battle with skin cancer and lymphoma. In the wake of his passing, his longtime backing group, the Coral Reefer Band, recently revealed that they plan to “keep the party going” and continue touring per his wishes.
