Joanna Sternberg released their fantastic new album I’ve Got Me in June, and they’ve now followed it with a new single, “Neighbors.” “I wrote this song about my social anxiety and how it manifests in the context of the high rise building I live in,” Joanna says. “I often am unsure of so many social rules and social cues that I just wind up either shutting down completely, or acting like an over-friendly almost muppet-like version of a human. This song is definitely intended to be sort of tongue-in-cheek/silly (I am very inspired by Randy Newman!) I performed this song at my piano in my living room and my very multi-talented friend Chris Miller recorded and mastered it!” Hear it below.
Joanna is on tour with The Lemon Twigs now, including Long Island’s The Space at Westbury Theatre on October 13 and Asbury Park’s Asbury Lanes on October 14, and they also have shows with The Beths (including Music Hall of Williamsburg on October 18) and Buck Meek (including Racket on October 27).
