BRIAN SELLA OF THE FRONT BOTTOMS
The Front Bottoms’ Brian Sella will head out on a solo acoustic tour in March including Birmingham, New Orleans, Athens, and Carrboro before wrapping it up with a home state show in Jersey City at White Eagle Hall on 3/22.
MERGE 35 LINEUP
Merge Records has announced the initial lineup for its 35th anniversary festival. It includes Destroyer, The Clean’s David Kilgour, The Clientele, Lambchop, New Pornographers, Imperial Teen, Superchunk, Mary Timony, Fruit Bats, Redd Kross, Dawn Richard & Spencer Zahn, Wye Oak, Rosali, Greg Cartwright (Reigning Sound), Eric Bachman, TORRES, A Giant Dog, Mike Krol and more.
MOSSWOOD MELTDOWN 2024
The 2024 edition of Oakland, CA’s Mosswood Meltdown happens July 6 & 7, and the lineup includes The B-52s, Redd Kross, Hunx & His Punx, Big Freedia, Pure Hell, Pansy Division, Bush Tetras, Gibby Haynes, and more.
JONI MITCHELL
Joni Mitchell has added a second night at Hollywood Bowl. Like the 10/19 show, the newly added 10/20 show is billed as “Joni Mitchell & the Joni Jam” with Brandi Carlile and more guests TBA.
DEAD AND COMPANY
As you may have heard, Dead & Company aren’t actually done just yet, and they’re gearing up to a do a residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere, where U2 have a residency in progress.
SOL BLUME 2024
R&B-focused festival Sol Blume will expand to three days for its 2024 edition, happening on May 3-5 at Discovery Park in Sacramento, CA. This year’s headliners are Snoh Aalegra (on Friday), Kaytraminé (on Saturday), and SZA (on Sunday), and the lineup also features Kelela, PinkPantheress, Masego, SiR, Kota The Friend, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Ari Lennox, Omar Apollo, Doechii, Toosii, and more.
LADYTRON
Ladytron have announced a few late spring US shows around their appearance at Nevada’s Schellraiser fest, playing Chicago, Denver and Las Vegas.
THE STROKES
Like they did in 2022, The Strokes will play a Chicago show this year to support IL-07 Democratic Congressional candidate Kina Collins. It happens at Credit Union 1 Arena on March 8 (which is Collins’ birthday) and also features Beach Bunny and NNAMDI.
STRFKR
STRFKR have added more shows to their 2024 tour including Denver, San Diego and a second NYC show (Brooklyn Steel on 4/21 in addition to 4/18).
LOST DOG STREET BAND
Tennessee alt-country band Lost Dog Street Band have announced a new album, Survived, due April 26, as well as a spring tour.
A BEACON SCHOOL
NYC synth/postpunk band A Beacon School will be promoting their 2023 album yoyo with a short East Coast tour this spring. Dates include both coasts and the hometown show is TV Eye on April 14.
