Reignite rock trio Dogstar starring actor and bassist Keanu Reeves have revealed details of their first album in over 20 years, somewhere between power lines and palm treesalong with an accompanying 2023 tour and the project’s first single, “Everything Turns around.”
The 12-track LP is the band’s first full-length album since 2000 happy ending, and solidified the recent reunion between Reeves, guitarist/vocalist Bret Domrose and drummer Rob Mailhouse, which performed at Napa Valley’s BottleRock Festival in May. The show will be the live debut of nearly all songs from the new album, and the band confirmed in a statement that the concert experience was their main motivator, saying: “When creating this record, we were very excited about the idea of playing live.”
Fittingly, the album will be preceded by the Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees Tour, which spans more than 25 shows across North America and Japan from late summer until the end of 2023. The tour took place in Hermosa Beach, California, before traveling to Las Vegas, Chicago, Atlanta, and three shows in Japan in September. They conclude at the Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville on December 20.
Live Nation pre-sales for Dogstar’s 2023 tour begin Thursday, July 20 (use access code legend), which will be available for public sale via Ticketmaster on Friday, July 21. Check here for seats and offers once the general sale begins.
At the same time, the band released its first new album in more than two decades, with the self-described “fun summer” single “Everything Turns around.” They share: “It has an uplifting message and a positive vibe that hopefully makes your day a little easier. It’s one of our favorite songs to play live and can’t wait to share it on our upcoming tour.” Watch their upcoming on-stage heroics in the “Everything Turns around” music video below.
