It was a night of 1993 Indie Rock Royalty at Music Hall of Williamsburg on Tuesday (12/5). Dinosaur Jr were on their fourth show of a seven-night run at the Brooklyn venue to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Where You Been?, and for the second set brought out Kim Deal, whose band The Breeders are also celebrating the 30th anniversary of The Last Splash. She joined J, Lou and Murph on guitar and vocals for Dinosaur Jr’s “Tarpit” before dipping into her own catalogue to play The Breeders’ “Divine Hammer” (which J Mascis remixed back in the day) and then a roaring version of her Pixies classic, “Gigantic.”
Kim was not the only guest that night either. Craig Finn and Tad Kubler of The Hold Steady, who had just wrapped up their own multi-night Brooklyn run, came out before Kim to help Dinosaur Jr out with “The Wagon.”
Watch video of Dinosaur Jr with Kim and Craig & Tad, and see the Night 4 setlist below.
