Berthold City, the LA hardcore band fronted by Strife guitarist and WAR Records owner Andrew Kline, will release their new LP A Moment In Time on August 25 via WAR Records (pre-order). It features production and mixing from Terror drummer Nick Jett, as well as engineering from Gabe Vanbenschoten and engineering/mixing from Aaron Jamili, and Nick also drums on one song (“Broken Foundation”). Its 16 songs include covers of Circle Jerks and Insted, alongside 14 originals, and we’re now premiering second single “The Line Divides,” which follows lead single “Until I Fade Away.”
“‘The Line Divides’ is about believing and standing up for women,” Andrew tells us. “We live in a society where rape culture is normalized, and the statistics are sickening – one out of every six American women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime. This song is about standing as an ally for our sisters, mothers, daughters, and the women in our scene that speak out against their abusers. ‘Who’s side are you on when the line divides? I said who’s fucking side are you on? When silence is the battle cry.’”
The song features Enact vocalist Rikki Vanderpool, and it’s a real rager that makes its point loudly, clearly, and at breakneck speeds. Listen below.
