Lana Del Rey is going country for the follow-up to last year’s fantastic Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd. Speaking at Billboard’s pre-Grammys Power 100 Party in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (1/31), Lana said her tenth album, Lasso, is slated to arrive in September. “If you can’t already tell by our award winners and our performers, the music business is going country,” she said, as Billboard reports. “We’re going country. It’s happening. That’s why Jack [Antonoff] has followed me to Muscle Shoals, Nashville, Mississippi, over the last four years.”
Back in December, Lana released a gorgeous cover of John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” She made that one with producer Zachary Dawes, not Jack Antonoff, who she was speaking in honor of at Wednesday night’s event. He’s up for Producer of the Year again, and if he wins, he’ll join Babyface in being honored with the award for three years in a row.
Lana is also up for a bunch of Grammys herself on Sunday, including Album and Song of the Year.
