Brighton indie outfit Lime Garden are on the rise, and they’ve been gearing up for the release of their debut album, One More Thing. The LP, arriving Feb. 16 via So Young Records, has been previewed by a series of exceedingly catchy songs, including “I Want To Be You,” “Love Song,” and “Nepotism (baby).”
Today, Lime Garden are sharing their latest single “Mother” alongside a new lyric video. The track deftly illustrates the moment of adulthood when you realize that your parents aren’t as invincible as you once thought — that you’ve become equals. With strains of Talking Heads, St. Vincent, and the Strokes abundant, “Mother” is rhythmically dense, dreamlike, and a tender meditation on the people closest to us.

“‘Mother’ is a song about understanding your mother is human too,” vocalist/rhythm guitarist Chloe Howard exclusively tells AP. “The realization that your childhood self was sometimes too critical and difficult. It’s about understanding that your mum doesn’t have all the answers about life and that they are also growing as a person with you.”
