North Carolina straightedge band Magnitude have announced their sophomore album, Of Days Renewed…, due September 15 via Triple B Records. We’ve got an exclusive ultra clear w/ neon orange, neon violet & black splatter vinyl variant up for pre-order and limited to 250 copies. Order yours while they last and check out a mock-up below.
The band self-produced the album in various studios and houses, and then had it mixed by John Howard. It includes recent single “Rectify” as well as the just-released title track. It’s a pit-opening rager with some echoes of 2000s-style melodic hardcore, and it comes with a video that gives you a taste of how forceful this band is on stage. Vocalist Russel Bussey says:
“Of Days Renewed” is a song for anyone who feels lost, broken, or hopeless. We are all destined to experience dark times in our lives. I wanted to write a song pulling from some of the darkest times I’ve made it through and incorporate some of the thoughts that pushed me forward. To me ‘dreaming of days renewed’ is transfixing on a dream of better days and using that dream to push you through the darkness. It’s a commitment to yourself to continue pushing forward until the end.
Check out the song and its Derek Rathbun-directed video below.
Magnitude have two upcoming shows at the moment, including the Triple B/DAZE/Streets of Hate showcases in NYC at Brooklyn Monarch on September 30 & October 1. They play day two with Madball, Mindforce, Twitching Tongues, Crown of Thornz, and more.
They also open the second of two Blacklisted / Unbroken reunion shows in Philly, on October 28.
